Fix Your Bike Vouchers

Riding without a rucksack

Fix Your Bike vouchers are part of a government scheme aimed at getting people cycling.

The Government pledged to spend £25 million by releasing 500,000 vouchers. This is part of their ‘£2 billion cycling and walking revolution’. The overall project also involves thousands of miles of new protected bike lanes, cycle training for everyone and bikes available on prescription. It is a bold and noble ambition.

The second batch of Fix Your Bike vouchers, worth £50 each, are expected to be released to the public soon. The scheme is open to anyone in England who has an unused cycle in need of a repair. Vouchers can only be used with bike repairers or mechanics that are registered for the scheme in England. Up to two vouchers can be claimed per household.

The good news is the Double Black Bike Repairs team are registered providers for the scheme and would love to help get your trusty two wheels back on the road or trail. The voucher can be used either to cover the cost of repairs or as part payment for more expensive repairs.

You need to apply for Fix Your Bike vouchers via the government website here. The last batch were snapped up very quickly and so you’ll have to be ready to apply as soon as they are released. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we have heard about a date.

Details on all Double Black services are available via these links (repairs & servicing). Alternatively, please don’t hesitate to Contact Us to discuss your requirements. It is also worth contacting us in advance if your aren’t sure the voucher will cover your requirements. We fully support this government effort to get more people cycling, but do ask that people only apply if they can’t reasonably fund the repairs themselves. Let’s get the country biking.
